Andy Chiang
Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, Andy Chiang has more than 20 years of restaurant-industry experience. His defining yakiniku training began at Taipei’s Da-Wan in 2015.
During his four years there, Andy served as a team lead. Da-Wan earned a Michelin star in 2018 and retained it in 2019. Andy later brought that discipline to San Francisco and opened Yakiniku Shodai in 2021.
Shodai’s stated mission is to spread yakiniku culture through high-quality Wagyu, attentive service and skilled preparation.
A first-generation restaurant built around product, fire and hospitality.
